WHY Do You Need A Bucket List? (+ 50 IDEAS)

Iceland amazing scenery

Well if I’m honest you don’t really need one. By having a ‘Bucket List’ it might help focus your mind and let you think about your aspirations for both travel and life goals. These can be things you want to complete this month or year or even a dream for 10 years time. There’s no right or wrong it’s your list!

What to put on your Bucket List?

Before I sat and wrote mine down, I was still doing the things I wanted to do. It was more of a virtual Bucket List! In 2016, I talked about trekking the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. So I booked a flight and made it happen. I also wanted to give blood, something I had said I would do for a while but never actually did. One pint of the red stuff was donated in 2016 and more to come in 2017!

Just because you don’t write it down doesn’t mean it won’t happen. You are in control. But I have to admit writing it down does help me. When you read my bucket list, you might notice that I have a lot of wildlife experiences that I would love to do.

A lot of these are on my bucket list too. I really want to goncage diving with sharks and go to Antarctica too. I would also love to see Polar Bears in the wild. Thanks for reminding me of what I want to do and need to make happen.

    • Becky the Traveller says:

Ah that’s great Kelly, nice to see we have a few things in common. I think my Antarctic trip might be a long way off as it’s pretty expensive but I will keep playing the lotto just in case!!

  2. Lacey says:

This I should an awesome list! So many things I would love to do! I may just have to start writing mine down! I just keep it in my head and in my Pinterest currently lol! ? Much Love!

    • Becky the Traveller says:

Thanks Lacey, yes writing it down is definitely a fun thing to do, although I keep thinking of more things that I want to add to it. Yes I have a pinterest board for my ideas and it’s got so many things in it!

  3. Delilah says:

Really great bucket list! Some fun inclusions—like the penguins haha. I never really thought of what I would have on my list. Maybe I should make one, too…

  4. Megan Johnson says:

Awesome list! I agree with a lot of them, especially polar bears in the wild! I’m dying to see that! Hopefully this summer I’ll get to see a lot more slot canyons in the US since I’ll be in Utah for the summer!

  5. Audrey says:

Everest Base Camp Trek was my #1 bucket list item and I totally relate to you, I just decided to book a flight and a guide because it was “never the right moment” 🙂 Let me know when you’re crossing Belgium off your list, I’ll be happy to advise you!

    • Becky the Traveller says:

Ah that’s fantastic Audrey so glad you are the same as me!! If you go back to Nepal the Annapurna Circuit is beautiful, very different to the Everest (so I am told from friends that have done both). Thanks yes I will be in touch when I visit Belgium, really appreciate that 🙂

  6. Anisa says:

I really need to put my bucket list down on paper! I am probably going to steal a few lines from yours, you have lots of great ideas.

  7. Teresa Gomez says:

I love this! I’ve always had a bucket list but it’s always been in my head, which means I very often lose sight of it. You’ve inspired me to put pen to paper to remind me to keep focused and not get distracted from what I really want to do. It’s so easy to let everyday life get in the way of your dreams! Thanks for the nudge! 😀

    • Becky the Traveller says:

Ah thanks Teresa, yes mine was in my head for a long time so thought putting it in writing and on my blog might help focus my attention to achieving some of it. No problem, would love to see your list 🙂

      • Teresa Gomez says:

Mine has already grown since yesterday! haha. I think adding it to your blog is a fabulous idea. You can also use it as a checklist and cross things off as you tick them. I’m going to take that idea and start a bucket list post for mine. 😀

  8. jaimee says:

DEFINITELY come to see Belgium – it’s so great! Paragliding is also something I’ve heard is incredible (especially if you’re at a place that’s gorgeous). I sadly have never been!
You have tons of mountains to climb 😉 Good luck girl!

    • Becky the Traveller says:

Ah I am guessing that’s where you live!! I will defintely come, it’s on the list now!! I have been a few places that I could have done but timing/weather wasn’t right so I will defintely do it one day, might need to wait until I buy a go-pro!!
