The Jurys Inn Cheltenham was where I stayed with fellow blogger Toni from Enchanted Serendipity on our awesome Bath and Cotswolds road trip.
I had stayed at Jurys Inn before, the last one was in Birmingham and my expectations weren’t particularly high. But like with most of my trips I wasn’t planning on spending much time at the hotel, as I prefer to be out exploring so it didn’t matter too much.
We had an epic 3-day road trip planned, starting with a day exploring the historic city of Bath. Next visiting Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral, Lacock Abbey then making our far up to the Cotswolds stopping off at as many cute villages as we could fit in! Yes, I do like to keep busy when I’m travelling!
Finally, after nearly a 12 hour day on day two, we arrived at the Jurys Inn Cheltenham, west of our last stop in the Cotswolds. At this point, anything with a comfy bed would have been great, but checking-in and going to the room I was pleasantly surprised.

Hotel Location
The Jurys Inn Cheltenham is about 10 minutes drive from the main city centre and situated off a busy roundabout. At first, I wasn’t sure which junction led me to the entrance and to be on the safe side I took the road beforehand. It turned out to the be the wrong one but soon I was back on track.
The location is ideal if you are travelling by car, as it’s great to be away from the city centre traffic but not so great if you’re arriving by public transport. There is a local bus that stops right outside the hotel which you can catch in the evening to save driving but if you have a lot of luggage then you might want somewhere close to Cheltenham Spa train station, which is in the city.

Jurys Inn Cheltenham Overall Thoughts
Before arriving, I thought the Jurys Inn Cheltenham would be a budget style hotel, without a personality (if hotels have personalities haha).
Instead, I came away thinking about what a lovely hotel it was, with great facilities. I only wish I had more time to take a dip in the pool and relax in the steam room. So many reasons to go back!! The staff were also helpful and friendly, which is lovely to see in a larger chain hotel.
After a long day driving, I chose to eat in the hotel restaurant. I’m not normally a fan of eating in hotels, I’d much rather go and find a quirky local restaurant. But my body was telling me that I needed food and sleep.
Again, I was surprised, the menu had a great choice, including vegetarian and gluten-free options available. I had the Chicken Malabar which was delicious but more sauce next time, please 🙂
Breakfast was not included in our room rate and as we were exploring the Cotswolds it seemed only fitting to have scones, jam and cream for breakfast. Much better than a boring breakfast haha.
Would I stay here again?
Yes, I would be happy to stay at Jurys Inn Cheltenham again. The room was comfy and I had a lovely night’s sleep. The location wasn’t too far from the Cotswolds and I have a few walks in mind that I would like to do in that area. If you love hiking too then you can read more of my hiking adventures here.
